Central Queensland University

About the university

The Central Queensland University (CQU) is a non-profit, public higher education institution based in the rural small city of North Rockhampton, Queensland. Established in 1967, it has additional branch campuses across Australia and internationally in Fiji, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. CQU is officially recognized by the Department of Education and Training of Australia and has a large-sized student population ranging from 15,000 to 19,999. As a coeducational institute, it provides programs leading to recognized degrees from pre-bachelor's through doctorates in various study areas. Selections are made based on entrance examinations, as well as past academic records and performance, with an acceptance rate of 80-89%. International students can apply. In addition, CQU offers numerous facilities and services, including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aid, study abroad programs, and online and distance learning opportunities.
